TAICOS works down the start circuit rather than guessing: verify the run capacitor under load (a good static reading can still fail at start), check contactor pull-in and contact resistance, measure supply voltage at the compressor terminals during the start attempt — a healthy static reading with a large drop under load points at supply or contactor, not the compressor. Then winding resistance C-S-R and insulation to earth before condemning the unit.

High current with heat is a short, and TAICOS treats it as one: do not keep pushing current. Find the hot component with freeze spray or a thermal camera at low voltage, isolate the rail (PMIC, charging IC, CPU core), and check for liquid damage and wrong-charger damage before any reflow. The order matters — feeding a shorted board more amps turns a repairable fault into a dead one.

TAICOS runs the budget instead of answering yes or no. Class B+ gives 28 dB. A 1:64 splitter costs about 20.6 dB, 10 km at 1310 nm about 3.5 dB, plus connectors and splices — roughly 26.3 dB spent, 1.7 dB margin. Legal, but one dirty connector eats it. Drop to 1:32 and the margin becomes about 4.9 dB. That is the honest engineering answer, with the arithmetic shown.

TAICOS reports a data gap instead of inventing a procedure. Its knowledge base does not cover ATM mechanisms, so it says so, gives only what it can support generally, and logs the gap so the topic can be added. An AI that guesses confidently on equipment it has never seen is the one that costs a technician a board.

Answers are condensed for the page. TAICOS returns full component-level detail, test points and expected values in the app, with supplier links and local shop stock where relevant. Safety-critical work (EV high-voltage, marine, medical, fire systems) is deliberately gated — TAICOS refuses bypasses and points to the qualified authority.

Handle uncovered devices

The API always returns a diagnosis, but it tells you when it's on thin ice. Check kb_grounded: when it's false (or confidence is low), route that device to a human technician instead of acting on the result automatically. That's how you keep automated decisions safe.
